Problem 4 - Distributed Systems

Describe briefly how a system call (service call) issued by a user process is preformed in both of the following two cases:

1.

services in the operating system are realized in the kernel using privileged mode;

2.

services in the operating system are realized as processes (servers) using non-privileged mode.

Discuss the merits and demerits of these two methods.
